Let Us Discover Fire Again
My Dear Beloved Children in Christ,
I read a quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a paleontologist and philosopher, who said, “Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” Wow! Pretty amazing and it really got me thinking how we have the opportunity to make an impact on the history of the world from this moment forward. Stop and really think about this for a moment, and envision what an impact we can have on the world again. When fire was discovered and put into use, the miraculous chain of events it created and the affect it had on everything else was tremendous. Let us now concern ourselves with this task and not the cares of the world that have occupied our time. We can again create a monumental impact with the example of love that Jesus Christ has shown and given to us, and start a whole new chain of events with the discovery of this fire of love within us. Love should begin with the thought of nourishing the soul of someone else. This is how God intended us to live our life and He gave us the example through Jesus Christ. We know there is beauty and goodness in this world and Jesus Christ showed us that even in a world in which evil is apparent and present, we can be who we are meant to be, and do what we are meant to do. We can harness the energy of this love for God and begin a whole new chapter of the history of man. The greatest impact we can have is in how we react and respond to the world around us. Jesus Christ showed us that even in the face of all the cruelty, pain and hate He loved everyone around Him equally, even those who hated Him and crucified Him. He loved anyway and this is how we can nourish our own souls by nourishing the souls of others. Christ showed us and demonstrated for us that our spiritual lives are about how we respond to how the world treats us and not about how we are treated. We should love, do good, help people and give the world the best we have always. We do this in spite of how illogical or unreasonable people may be, or how bad they may treat us. History has also shown us that how we react makes a difference and impact on the history of man. We saw how a negative reaction even to this love that Christ showed, had Him nailed to the cross, but He loved and forgave any way. We’ve seen the change in History from the discovery of fire, let us again create a chain of events that will change the world by harnessing the energy of this love for God and humankind and discover fire again.
